So what's it all about?
Bird watching is a meditative and calming activity. It requires patience - or at least the desire to cultivate this quality. Recent studies have documented its many mental health benefits, in addition to the physical health benefits that come from walking outside.
While it’s often thought of as a wilderness activity there are also urban bird watchers. To get started you will need a field guide and a pair of binoculars. The Vox link below assures us that it is not necessary to spend a lot of money on your initial kit.
