So what's it all about?
The most social of all social activities - and one of the oldest perhaps! This category covers the vast variety of games that involve leisurely tossing, throwing, or rolling a ball at a target, in an outdoor public place, preferably while sipping on a drink.
In France it's called Boules or Pétanque and is taken very seriously. In Eastern Europe and some parts of South America its Bocce. The UK has Lawn Bowling and it's played on grass. In the US there is Cornhole, and though the Europeans may squeal that it's not in the same league, I beg to differ. It's got the same essential qualities: easy socialization in the sunshine around a simple game. What more could you ask for?
If you live in Chicago there are Cornhole pick-up games you can join all through the summer (see the links below). Or try one of the other national variations!
